BMW was at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show where they showed off their updated BMW i8 coupe model.

The updates were made based on the upgrades that the BMW i8 Roadster received last year. The updated Coupe will be coming in with an updated 11.6kWh lithium-ion battery pack that will allow the vehicle to for 34miles on electric alone.

The update will also increase the output of the engine to 141hp bringing the total up to 374hp. The vehicle can hit 65mph using its electric motor alone and is capable of going from 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds.

The BMW i8 Coupe will also be offered with two additional colors, the E-Copper metallic and the Donington Grey metallic color. The interior will now come with a new Accaro eCopper interior color. Carbon trim and ceramic elements will be offered as optional features.

BMW also announced that they will be releasing 200 units of the BMW i8 Roadster Launch Edition which will come with the Caro interior design package.
