Facebook will be getting a new tool that will allow users to transfer photos directly to Google Photos. The feature was first offered in Ireland but the company will be making it available for the rest of the world in 2020.
According to Facebook, Google Photo is just a start as they could also add in other services in the future. For now, they will continue to test out the feature in Ireland and refine it based on the feedback that they are getting back.
This feature would be most convenient for those that don’t back up their pictures all the time but if you already do that, then you might not find the new feature that useful or interesting.
The open-source Data Transfer Project that Facebook is participating in are also participated by Apple, Microsoft, Twitter and more.
