Just like what went down with the vintage Land Rover Defender, the vintage Ford Bronco have been seeing a sudden hike in price following the announcement of the 2020 Ford Bronco.

Usually, the vintage Bronco could be purchased for about $23,400 but a car enthusiast recently picked up a Bronco for $259.8 million at an auction in Arizona. Last year, enthusiasts forked out about $9 million on Ferraris and Jaguar models that went beyond $1 million.

It looks like younger buyers have found a love for vintage SUVs. The Arizona auction house revealed that interest in them are growing and a Bronco model in perfect condition could go up to $47,015. A classic Bronco could set you back by $29,188 but five years back, it was only $14,500.

Old is Gold?

That’s not all – recently, a 1968 custom Ford Bronco pickup was sold for $82,500 at the Barret-Jackson auction in Arizona while a special edition Bronco was sold for $110,000 in Florida some time back.

It looks like the most wanted models are those produced between 1966 and 1997. This is the first gen Bronco, priced about $2,404, that came with a boxy look and big tires while lacking in a roof.

You could get a Ford Bronco for about $115,000 from Hemmings while Autotrader would sell you one for about $21,495 to $77,000. These are pristine condition models but even models that need a complete overhaul will cost you about $7,000.

Well, there’s no doubt that the vintage Ford Bronco is now sitting smugly on the most wanted list, right next to the Land Rover Defender, all thanks to its upcoming revival.

“It looks like the most wanted models are those produced between 1966 and 1997”
I think you mean 1977, considering ALL Broncos were produced between 66 and 97.
