By now, we have all heard of Bronco staying “true to its heritage,” and a report from Automotive News has somewhat affirmed this.
Dana, an automotive parts supplier, recently conducted an investor presentation. Keep in mind that this is the same supplier that produces axles for the Jeep Wrangler.
In that presentation, Dana revealed that they have received a contract from Ford to reel them in for the purpose of producing axles for the Bronco and Ranger. Well, one thing’s for sure, Ford definitely wants these duo to be mighty beasts.
This AdvanTEK solid rear axles will be produced right next to the axles for the Wrangler at Dana’s Toledo, Ohio factory. It may be too soon to say but it sure looks like Jeep will be gaining a competitor in its long-dominated segment, at last.
According to a Ford spokesperson, the Bronco “will meet the needs of our most demanding off-road enthusiasts.” However, the spokesperson stopped at that by adding, “We will have more information to share about Bronco’s suspension closer to launch.”
There’s no doubt that it will be intriguing to see how the Bronco will compare against the beasty Wrangler. The Wrangler is a tough rival to beat though, as it has been dominating SUV sales based on its confidence in its off-roading capabilities.
