Ford Fusion drivers might want to take note of this. New reports are claiming that the Ford Fusion might have a steering issue that could cause the steering to detach itself mid-drive.

According to NHTSA, they are now opening up an investigation to look into the reports about the detaching steering wheel. The investigation will include 841,000 units of Ford Motor Cars. This was after NHTSA receives three reports of steering wheel detaching itself on the Ford Fusion. One report claim that the steering came off when the driver was trying to turn into the gas station.

The models being looked at right now are the 2014 – 2016 Ford Fusion models. Nobody knows what was the cause although there was some speculation that it might have something to do with the steering wheel bolts.

Ford has not responded to the reports yet so we will have to wait and see if NHTSA comes up with anything.
