A vacuum pump issue in some of the GM SUV and trucks meant that GM had to issue a recall that would affect about 3.46million units of vehicles here in the US.
According to the reports, the issue could be related to about 113 accidents and 13 injuries and would affect models from 2014 to 2018. Models that would be affected are the Caddilac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Cjverol Tahoe, GMC Sierra, GMC Yukon, and Chevrolet Suburban.
It was explained that the issue here was the vacuum pump with the amount of vacuum decreasing over time affecting the effectiveness of the brake. Those affected will be getting their electronic brake control module to reprogram so that the system would make the needed adjustment when the vacuum assist is depleted.
GM also released another recall not too long ago over the engine control module software.
