Google is essentially an advertising company as a huge chunk of its profits are derived from ads and the company has long worked on integrating its ads into its variety of services.

However, most folks were caught off-guard when the tech giant released an advertisement for the new Beauty and the Beast movie into its Google Home and the Google Assistant.

Although it lasted for only about 15 seconds, many users were definitely not pleased with this new inclusion which led to many of them pouring their thoughts all over Reddit threads.

Some felt that it was unfair to them, especially since they had to pay for the device while others felt that it was outright annoying to hear ads when all they wanted was an answer to a specific question.

Google didn’t let this on slide though and it quickly came up with a statement that read, “This isn’t an ad; the beauty in the Assistant is that it invites our partners to be our guest and share their tales.”

If you ask us, that sounds like a pretty fancy way to describe ads. Well, do you think Google’s ad inclusion is acceptable or do you find it annoying?

Have now purchased 7 Google Homes. Gave some as presents. Never had an ad.
