Compared to the HTC One M9, the HTC 10 keeps its lights on longer. It sports a 3,000mAh battery, more than its predecessor’s 2,840mAh unit and is equipped with a more efficient processor that doesn’t overheat like the Snapdragon 810 on the One M9.
Curiously, the latest HTC flagship loses out in battery endurance compared to the brand’s 2014 range-topper, the HTC One M8 which boasts a 2,600mAh battery.
Could it be that a Snapdragon 801 paired with 2GB RAM is more efficient than a Snapdragon 820 paired with 4GB RAM? Or perhaps the Quad HD resolution on the HTC 10 is to be blamed?
Based on battery life tests by Phone Arena, the latest from HTC can last 7 hours and 10 minutes, superior to the One M9 which earns only 6 hours and 25 minutes. On the GSMArena test, the HTC 10 attains 66 hours of battery endurance, higher than the One M9 by 4 hours.
However, it lags slightly behind the One M8 which stands at 7 hours and 12 minutes according to Phone Arena, but is considerably inferior according to GSMArena which rates the One M8 at 77 hours.
