Google has just launched the very first beta of Android 7.0 N, and announced that the final version will be out to the Nexus lineup at the tail-end of summer. That’s great news if you’re a Nexus user.

It is also great news if you’re a user of the HTC 10, HTC One M9, or HTC One A9 because these three have been confirmed for the Android 7.0 N update.

Knowing HTC, the over-the-air (OTA) update roll-out should be expected quite soon after the Nexus devices have gotten it.

Unfortunately, HTC left out HTC One M8 in its update plans, which means that users would have to wait on independent developers such as CyanogenMod and Dirty Unicorn to release the custom Android 7.0 ROMs.

But there’s a good chance that not all HTC One M8 users are left out. Although it’s not mentioned, we think that devices running on stock Android would be receiving the update. So that’s one reason for HTC One M8 Google Play Edition (GPE) users to be optimistic.
