Huawei may reveal more than expected at its February 26 press conference at MWC in Barcelona. It appears that we may be seeing a new smartwatch from the manufacturer, the Huawei Watch 2.
Arriving two years after the original version, the second gen Huawei wearable will be looking sportier than ever. The Huawei Watch was one of the best looking Android Wear device as it did not look like a typical smartwatch; hopefully, the new version won’t be moving too far from that.
According to GSM Arena, the Huawei Watch 2 may be coming with optional cellular data connectivity, which includes the ability of making calls. Since the term “optional” is used, that could be a hint of two versions of the model, but this is merely speculations for now.
This is because the report states that this bit of info comes from “a person familiar with the company’s plans.” The Huawei Watch 2 may be coming with eSIM in order to support mobile data connectivity but there hasn’t been any news on whether it will support 4G LTE networks or only 3G networks.
