LG proved that it meant business when it released its G6 bearing a massive screen inside a truly compact built. The company aimed to redefine the phablet genre and many believe that it has.
The LG G6, sporting a 5.7-inch display size, came with minimized bezels along with an 18:9 aspect ratio which made it look longer and thinner compared to the 16:9 aspect ratio screens on other devices.
That said, there aren’t many apps that are optimized for that screen ratio currently. However, that is not a cause for concern as LG Electronics is reportedly planning to grow the number of apps optimized for its G6.
Currently, there are about 200 apps which support this particular aspect ratio on the company’s SmartWorld store and LG is planning to take that figure up to 300, according to a report by Android Soul.
Samsung’s latest flagship duo, the Galaxy S8 and S8+, also feature the same aspect ratio screen and it sure looks like LG is trying its best to give its rival a good run for its money with its latest plans.
