One of the most used methods to measure a car’s ability to go fast is through putting the vehicle on a lap test around the Nurburgring. The best lap will then get inserted into a table and from there we can see how the vehicle compared to other cars that have made the same lap attempts.

So today, we witnessed a modified Mazda MX-5 Miata NC testing it out at Nurburgring and were surprised to see the car completing the legendary track in just 7 minutes and 49.74 seconds. It took us a while to accept the result, especially when knowing that the MX-5 Miata NC has less than 200hp despite the modifications.

The lap time of the MX-5 Miata NC puts it on the same wavelength with the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport and a hair ahead of the Aston Martin Vantage V8. So, how can a car with less than 200hp make such an achievement?

We don’t know about you but we would point our finger at the driver. The MX-5 Miata NC was driven by a test driver from Koenigsegg and he has got some serious skill to push the car into glory.
