Mazda has made it pretty clear the last few times that the RX-8 is not going to happen but then, we will start seeing them testing the vehicle out on the tracks once again igniting the rumors that a new RX-8 is in the making.

It was reported that Mazda is looking to use its rotary engine as a range extender for its electric vehicles in the future. We know that they do plan to show off a new EV model at the Tokyo Motor Show this month and that we will see it come with a rotary engine.

Others seems to think that Mazda is looking to launch a modern-day RX-7 model as it seems odd that Mazda would choose to test out the engine on an RX-8 model.

Whatever the reason is, the fans are still hoping that they might one day see the RX-8 on the road again but without any confirmation from Mazda, all we can do is speculate and wait.
