During the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, Ford dropped the news that the Ranger pickup and Bronco SUV will finally be revived for the American market.
The US version of the Ranger will not differ much from the international version; however, the Bronco is said to remain “true to its heritage,” as revealed by Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s American president.
So, the upcoming Bronco could be an off-road capable SUV. The executive refused to reveal whether it’ll be a two or four-door model; instead all he said was that, “You’ll recognize it as a Bronco,” reported Automotive News.
Ford’s executive chairman, Bill Ford, confirmed during the annual show that the Ranger and Bronco will be employing a body-on-frame built based on the T6 architecture, designed in Australia.
Well, Ford is basically saying that the Bronco will be a capable off-roader that’ll be easy to recognize – the same thing has been said by Jeep on the upcoming Wrangler. So, just like the Wrangler, the Bronco is trying to appeal as a ‘heritage 4×4’.
