Prior to its global launch, the Nokia 6 will be upgraded to the Android 7.1.1 Nougat, according to a report by Android Soul. It looks like the first Nokia-branded smartphone will be jumping on the 7.1.1 bandwagon way before many other flagship devices.

For now, the Nokia 6 is only available in China but HMD Global had revealed sometime in February that the device will be unleashed globally in Q2 2017 and the company even said that the device will be gaining an OS update as soon as possible.

This just proves that the company will be making good on its words. The update is reported to be weighing in at 370MB and it will be coming with an updated enhanced power saving and background management.

Aside that, the version 7.1.1 update will also bring in support for 4G/3G dual-SIM dual-standby. That’s not all – the Nokis USB driver is also said to gain an update as well as the version of preload app.

The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update will be coming along with the April security patch, which was just recently launched by Google.
