Outer Worlds Dev Will Not Get Too Big


Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds was a huge success as fans were impressed by the scale of the game and how much it will have to offer but despite their success, the developer is looking to keep things small for now.

The game was announced at X019 this week. From what was announced, we understand that it is a survival game where we will be playing as a shrunk-down human.

According to Feargus Urquhart, they want to keep their staff headcount at 200 people for now adding that they will have more outsourcing budget now while Obsidian will remain small. He added that they are not looking to have a thousand-person team even with Microsoft supporting them.

Obsidian is also working on porting The Outer Worlds to Nintendo Switch which will be arriving next year.
