While folks over at Hollywood were busy with the Oscars, the mobile universe held its very own award show; the GSMA’s “Best of” for MWC 2017.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge nabbed the award as the best smartphone at MWC and the company states that the device was selected due to its “refined design, advanced camera and outstanding performance.” This Samsung device managed to beat the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, Google Pixel XL, Huawei P9, and the Moto Z.

-Junho Park, vice president of Global Product Strategy, Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics, was thrilled to receive the award and said that, “We are honored to be recognized for our craftsmanship in design and innovation with the Galaxy S7 edge. This award is a testament to our constant pursuit of excellence as we continue to exceed consumers’ expectations through revolutionary mobile technology.”

This marks the second time in a row that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has nabbed the best smartphone award as it won the 2016’s title as well. Well, we are sure there were no mistakes in envelopes getting switched up in this award show so perhaps the Galaxy S7 Edge deserved this second round of victory.
