Apple certainly up their game this year with the new TrueDepth technology which means Samsung will have to really up their game next year when they release the Samsung Galaxy S9.

One of the new techs that Samsung is working on is the fingerprint sensor that will be embedded into the display. Previous report suggests that the feature will not be included when the Galaxy S9 arrives. However, new reports are now saying that the Samsung patent for the tech has been awarded to them and that means they can finally move forward with developing it.

According to the paper, the fingerprint sensor will be embedded in between the cover glass and touch sensor. Samsung will also be working on implementing a twelve pressure points spread across the display so that users don’t have to use a specific spot to scan their fingerprint.

Hopefully, Samsung will get it ready in time for the Samsung Galaxy S9 but we think it might be a little too late now.
