Now that Smart is in the hands of Geely, we should expect to see more changes coming with future Smart models. In fact, we might see a little Mini somewhere in there as well.

According to Smart, they are looking at the relaunched Mini models of the 2000s for inspiration for their next-gen Smart vehicles. For now, we are expecting to see the Fortwo and Forfour successor arriving in 2022 before moving on to larger models including some B-segment models.

They are hoping they are able to replicate the success that the Mini enjoyed when they released the vehicle years ago. However, before we start seeing the new models, Smart will be offering a facelifted version of their current Fortwo and Forfour which will come with an 80hp electric motor that will offer about 118lb ft of torque and will be able to go from 0-62mph in 11.6 seconds.
