Despite their best effort, it is clear that Sony’s mobile division is struggling to keep up with the other smartphone manufacturers and brands out there. New reports are now suggesting that Sony might also pull out their Sony Mobile division from some markets around the world.

According to the report, Sony Mobile could cease their operation in the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa this year. This was leaked by Evan Blass which also added that the company would close down their offices in those markets in October this year.

While it is sad to see Sony struggling in the mobile industry, we also can’t help but feel like this was expected as Sony has not managed to come out with any new flagship that was really ahead of their competitors or more exciting. Sony smartphones have been called boring and predictable for years and it does not look like Sony was going anything about it.

How do you feel about Sony exiting some markets this year?
