While there have been talks about Sony already working on the next PlayStation console, we don’t think that it would be coming anytime soon but it looks like PS4 players might have to start accepting the fact that some of the announced E3 games might not be released on the PS4. Same goes for Xbox One.
When asking if there is a possibility that Starfield might be released on the next-gen console and not the current consoles, Todd Howard answered that they won’t compromise the game just to make sure it runs on an older console. If leaving the older console behind for a newer hardware is better for the game, they would definitely do it.
But, of course, it is still too early to say for sure right now. We still do not have a next-gen console to look forward so we will just have to wait and see.
