Tesla has made it clear from the start that connectivity will be an important aspect of their car and they are backing that up with the release of two new packages for their vehicles.
Starting next month, the Tesla models will be offered with two new connectivity options. There is the Standard Connectivity package which will access the vehicle’s cellular internet for navigation.
Those looking for more can go for the Premium Connectivity package will come with live-traffic visualization, media streaming, web browsing, OTA updates and more. We still not know how much each of these packages will cost.
All models including the Model X, Model S and Model 3 will be offered the same packages. Vehicles purchased before the 1st of July will continue to receive the Premium package for free for the entire lifetime of the vehicle which is surprising as Tesla previously state that existing owners will be charged after four years.
