Prior to Star Wars: The Force Awakens she only got as far as minor roles or indie films, but in just one film Daisy Ridley has become the new darling of Hollywood. We’ll surely see her in some big roles, and one of them has been reported to be the Tomb Raider reboot.

Instead of the Lara Croft of old, which was renowned more for her ability to get gamers horny than her archaeologist credentials, the reinvented heroine is going to be based on the rebooted game series that features a more complex character.

The sequel to the rebooted game, Rise of the Tomb Raider, has earned earned laurels for Achievement in Videogame Writing so basing the film on the latest games is a good idea.

Casting Daisy Ridley for the role seems fitting, as she somewhat looks the part of someone who could manage plenty of action sequences whilst keeping her character relatable and vulnerable. Plus she has the requisite accent for the character and she did after all pull off the Jakku scenes in The Force Awakens under the sweltering heat.
