Toyota e-Palette For Olympics Games Updated!

 -

Toyota will be helping out during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games by offering up a few electric vehicles with one of them being the autonomous e-Palette.

It was reported that up to 20 units of the vehicle will be used during the games to transport staff and athletes around the Olympic and Paralympic villages.

The vehicle was first shown off in 2018 but it has since gotten a few important updates based on the feedbacks that Toyota has been getting from the athletes especially the Paralympians on how to make it more convenient for comfortable.

After the update, the latest version now comes with large doors and electric ramps that will not only make boarding faster but also make it more convenient for those in wheelchairs. There are also handrails and flexible seating options.

The vehicle will also come with the Level 4 autonomous driving system that will allow it to drive itself up to 12mph. While it will be driving on its own, there will still be a safety operator on-board. We will be seeing the updated e-Palette at the Tokyo Motor Show this month.
