The Car-Net app by Volkswagen will be getting an update this week which will include some additional features for the users.

The current app allows users to interact with their vehicles and is offered for free to all buyers for five years starting from the date of the vehicle is purchase. It comes with features like the remote start and stop, remote door lock and unlock, remote honk and flash of lights, last parked location and also the ability to check the status of the vehicle including fuel level and mileage.

Users can expect to see more coming to the app including the ability to connect to smart home devices as well as giving owners the option to locate off-street parking locations from the navigation tab.

Then there is the ‘DriveView” program where the driver can choose to monitor their driving.
